Does anyone know who this John H Anderson is that appears on the White Co TN 1830 census? He is living two doors down from a Mary Anderson & family. Next door to John H is Alexander B Lain and several houses down from John H is Jacob A Cain. I believe the Lain and Cain are actually Alexander B Lane and Jacob A Lane, sons of Turner Lane Sr and Martha Anderson. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Best regards, William Kent Anderson PointBlank, TX
Here is a copy of a message that I sent to the NORTHUMBRIA-L@rootsweb.com, which covers the Northumberland area of England. The Andersons that I am looking for are from there: 1. Burials-St. Andrews Newcastle 1801 Anderson, John High Friar St. s. Thomas Anderson, Yeoman ahw (and his wife?) formrly Lawson. 28-29 8y Dropsy. *Question A-Could someone please tell me what the 28-29 means? Hello Anderson researchers: Claes Axel Andersson was born in 1852 in Gardeby Parish, Ostergotland, Sweden to Anders Johan Andersson and Hedda Lovisa Tallberg. He worked at the railway in Enkoping Parish Uppsala in 1877. May 11, 1877 he married Johanna Elisabet Nordstrom (born 1849 in Brunneby Parish, Ostergotland). In May 1881, Claes, his wife Johanna and daughter Anna Maria (born 03-15-1880)(other siblings?) immigrated to the US, probably around Brainerd or Minneapolis, Minnesota. Claes would have been my great uncle and sadly, we have lost all touch with this family after Carl Julius (my grandfather) died in 1925. I don't know if they stayed in MN or went to California with Johan Wilhelm (the other brother). Claes may have chosen to use Charles or just Axel as his given name and based on the practices of his brothers, would guess he simply used Anderson as his surname. Does this information sound familiar to anyone? HELP!!! Thanks...Shirley Anderson ____________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape WebMail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com.

He married MINERVA A. WHITWORTH, 21 Jun 1866 in GREENE CO., INDIANA. Born 1847 in INDIANA. 1. LEWIS J. ANDERSON (1844-) & MINERVA A. WHITWORTH (1847-) 1.1 JAMES HENRY ANDERSON (1869-)
Has anyone come up with any marriage information on my William H. Anderson and Virginia Smith (m)1890 - 1891. I am still searching, still haven't found anything. They probably were married in Green Co. Va. I hope someone out their can help me. Sarah skincaid@cwv.net
RE: Jim Bryant's Martha J. Anderson I would like to know more about your Martha J. Anderson as this was my g-grandmother's name. She was born ca 1834-1837, she stated in KY. However, I have found no connection whatsoever to her. She married George W. CRANE in Dec., 1853 in Greene Co., IN. I cannot locate her anywhere prior to her marriage. Between 1872 and 1875, George and Martha took their family to IL, why we don't know. They had a son, Horace Edgar CRANE who is said to have been born in Shelby Co., IL in 1875; however, I have no proof of this other than his obit. Martha died in Monroe Co., IN in 1898 but there is not death certificate for her. She and George were first buried in Richardson Cem., Benton Twp., Monroe Co., IN and then moved to Rose Hill Cem., Monroe Co., IN. The first cemetery's records cannot be located. The second cemetery did not complete records concerning the parents, family, etc. because they were supposedly done from the first internment. Does any of this sound familiar? She has been my brick wall for many years. Family stories state that these Anderson's were from Ireland. Martha told her children that she used to go to the "caves" when the "cyclones" came. I'm guessing this would be in KY, TN, VA, or MO. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Sincerely, Judy Hill
