To any interested Andersons: I visited relatives in Illinois last summer and we went to several small rural cemeteries where Andersons were buried. I took photos of gravestones and just (finally!) had the film developed. These folks were all from the Augusta County area of VA as far as I can figure out. I am trying to find information on my David Anderson who was born in CharlesTown, Jefferson County, VA and what do I find in one of the photos but David Anderson, born April 15, 1797 (MY DAVID!) and died January 21, 1861, buried in Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Trivoli, Peoria County, IL. Interestingly, he is buried in the Dunn family section of the cemetery with his wife Mary J. Dunn (b. February 16, 1833, died November 25, 1859) so obviously this was a "trophy wife" (ha ha)..at least a much younger one. My information is that his first wife was a Mary Hackley from VA. Also on headstones were the following: Martha H. Anderson (1827-1863) Charles D. Anderson (1852-1864) John H. Anderson (b. September 15, 1829, d. June 21, 1900) His wife, Alice Preston (b. april 10, 1831, d. May 6, 1916) Their son Frank L. Anderson (b. January 16, 1875, d. June 15, 1904) Their son Edward J. Anderson (b. February 10, 1870, d. July 11, 1960) Raymond G. Anderson (1881-1944) His wife Lucy F. Anderson (1879-1965) I hope these names show up in someone's database or are missing relatives because they are all connected with my David but I don't know how. Apparently my North, Anderson, Marshall, and Fletcher ancestors all moved to this area of Illinois at about the same time, just before, during, or after the Civil War. They are all intertwined through marriage. The Norths and Andersons from VA and the Marshalls and Fletchers from Ohio. Hope this rings a bell with someone as I'm stuck on the Anderson, Marshall and Fletcher lines. Susan Lathrum
This is a re post for information on ELIZABETH ANDERSON. Married James CUMMINGS, January 2, 1813 in Cooperstown Presbyterian Church. They were supposed to have lived in Fly Creek. Fly Creek is near present day Sydney and Masonville, but in Otsego County. The same reference also lists Masonville in Otsego County, but the current maps show Masonville in Delaware County. The above information was given to me and is greatly appreciated, by Stan Niles Really not much to go on, but it is something. Thanks in advance, any help is appreciated. Hi list, This was posted last night or early this morning. I had to go and dig it back out of my deleted file. Hi, I posted the url for Kentucky birth records on-line last night, this site was up for about 10 hours or more, evidently it was an outlaw site. Ky vital records knew nothing of it, after much complaining today it was shut down. You could access any birth record up to present day, I found my nephew who was just born in July, including mothers maiden name. Now you dont know what some people could do with this kind of info. When I posted this , I was just as unaware as anyone else, so I appologise for any inconveince to anyone.Laura The head of the Office of Ky Vital Statistics stated that she was strictly against the publication of such information on living people also but that unless people spoke up against it this kind of information WOULD be made available on the Internet to anyone who wants it -- ie criminals, con-artists, you name it. -----Original Message----- From: RICK STEVEN THRASHER <thrashin@bigplanet.com> To: ANDERSON-L@rootsweb.com <ANDERSON-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Saturday, October 16, 1999 9:10 AM Subject: [ANDERSON-L] KENTUCKY SITE >Is anyone else having a problem with the >neon.state.ky.us/kvs/Search/BirthlookUp.asp? > >It and the main page say they are either nonexistent or not up yet.
