    3. I have an Alice Anderson who was born in Laurelton (now part of Brick Township), but the dates don't agree with yours. My Alice Anderson was born in 1856, and was the daughter of Moses Anderson (1821-1856), and Lydia Lawrence (1829-1900). I have nothing on her marriage, but if your marriage date is correct, they are obviously not the same. 3. Searching for roots and German descendants of Wihelm Heinrich SCHROEDER and his wife Dorothea SEIKAT or SEKATE. Wilhelm Heinrich SCHROEDER, shoemaker, was born 1862 in Germany, (obituary, prepared by son, indicates born in Sachsen), and died in 1931 in Preston, Ontario, Canada. He was married to Dorothea SEIKAT, born in 1853 in Germany, died in 1923 in Preston, Ontario, Canada. They had children born in Bramstedt, Holstein in 1880’s and emigrated to Canada from Bramstedt about 1912. Heinrich and Dorothea had two sons (Jochim Markus Wilhem, b 1886 in Bramstedt, and August Heinrich, b 1887 in Bramstedt) and probably one daughter, name and birthdate unknown. Wilhelm, was married in 1909 to Elly Anna Johanna EGGERT, in the Evangelistic Lutheran Church in Segeberg, Holstein. Wilhelm was shown as a journeyman Blacksmith, resident in Hamburg-Eisbuttel, and Elly as a farmworker/milkmaid, resident in Fahrenkrug. Elly was b in 1889 in Rehna, Mecklenb-Schwerin, the daughter of Joachim Heinrich Ernst EGGERT, a baker, and Maria Katharina Angel Elisabeth DUMMANN. August emigrated to Preston, Ontario, Canada in 1912, with a group from Bramstedt including members of the family Herman and Emilie HOLM and Frederick and Matilda SCHROEDER. August’s brother Wilhelm followed in 1913, accompanied by his wife and two infant sons. Their parents Heinrich and Dorothea came to Canada in either 1912 or 1913. It is believed that one sister remained in Germany. Contact was maintained up to 1939 but was not reestablished after the war. The sister’s first name is not known but it is understood that she married a jeweller named ANDERSON and that they had a daughter named Betti and a son Ernst August. Pictures of the children indicate that Betti may have been born 1925-1930 and Ernst August 3 to 4 years later. There may have been at least one more child. A studio picture of the children was taken in Wesselburen, Holst, which may have been their home. We would appreciate any information or leads regarding the above persons and families. 3. My Anderson's start out in Orange Co., Virginia in 1798, I'm not sure where they were before this. In 1798 their is a will for a George Anderson of Orange Co.Va., recorded in Madison Co. Va.he names all of his children their is a George Jr. named in the will. Then George ,JR. has a son named Obediah Anderson, who marries Cathrine Conrad, their will is of Orange Co.Va., 1832, they have a son Obediah Anderson, who married Emaline Booton, found them on the Census in Madison Co.,Va. with children naming the child that I am trying to research. William H.Anderson, so he is in Madison Co.Va. still in1850 and 1860. In 1860 he is 11yrs.old. He was married the first time in 1875 to Betty Bryant. they had 3 children, Samuel Jackson, 1876, Hiram Angus, 1881, Bessie. The mother dies when the daughter is young, the sons by this time are old enough to be on their own, they come to W.V.The daughter is placed with some of the family to be raised. The father William H. Anderson remarries in 1890 to Virginia A.Smith, still in Virginia, the next time we find them is in Green Co. listed as the 6 children's birth place as Green Co.Virginia. The mother is dead in 1910 this is when I find again William and the children, they are by this time living in W.V. Raleigh Co. I have not ever found any records of any kind showing exactly where William and the children were living before coming to West Virginia. I have not found either wife on census , birth records, land records, wills, newspapers, no records at funeral homes, only their graves and their sons by their first marriage buried them their, a family cemetery. None of the children are living to tell us anything about them. I am trying to find out something about William's second wife. I believe this woman came from a good family in Virginia around the area of Madison , Orange, Green,Nelson,Culpeper, in one of these Co.'s they lived together from 1890 to 1905. I had word of mouth that they lived in Wolf Town, Standersville area. If anyone out their has any records of this area could you look up , these 2 marriages for me. William and Betty Bryant 1875, William and Virginia A.Smith 1890 to 1992. Thanks Sarah skincaid@cwv.net
