    3. I too have a stumbling block on a James Anderson. James C. (Berry) Anderson. On his second marriage he lists his parents as James and Elizabeth, on his death cert. Raleigh Co. WV (July 1899) his second wife listed parents as James and Betsy. His mother Elizabeth was born 1779 (according to census) and a widow in 1850 living in Monroe (Mercer) Co. Va. In 1860 census she is shown living with her daughter Mary J. Anderson Hunt (married to Samuel Hunt ). I can find no marriage cert. for James & Elizabeth ? Anderson. Census states Elizabeth born in Va. Son James C. (Berry ) Anderson born in Va. Also Jabez Anderson lists his mother as Elizabeth (death cert. info given by son) but no fathers name. Any have an Elizabeth ? and James Anderson born around 1779 or perhaps James born earlier. Margaret - margarat@cwv.net

    1. [ANDERSON-L] Daniel C. + Sophia, IL and AR
    2. Seeking info on my Arkansas Andersons, specifically my great grandparents: Daniel C. and Sophia (his first wife) who married in Adams, IL. They relocated to Green Cty (Lafe) area and are buried together at Beliew. Their sons: James Anderson and Hardin Wallace (H.W. or 'Sandy') born 1867 and possibly one other child. Hardin married Addie Cole (of TN) in 1888 in AR and had 10 kids (Richard, Pearl (Estes), Jefferson Davis, Everett, Telfair, Ruth (Jones), William, Mavis. James was married twice (second wife Louise), committed a murder in the Marked Tree area and died about 1942 in Lawrence. Does anything sound familiar to anyone? PLS and thank you. Sandy in Florida

    2. Roger and Esta Anderson
    3. I believe your Anderson line came from Caroline Co.,Va. Look for Lawrence Anderson who had a son named John, born about 1741. John had another son,John, Jr., born about 1762. There was also a Walter. Information is scarce since fire destroyed most of the county records in Caroline Co. and all of the old Anderson homeplaces. I am a descendant of this line with very limited information from 1740-1800. I am searching for additional information. I know of John and Walter from family sources and also from Colonial Church Petitions. I also know that many of the Andersons migrated to KY and ILL. MERRY CHRISTMAS Esta and Roger W. 1. [ANDERSON-L] Philip Anderson, TN
    2. Robert Strong
    3. I am stuck at Philip Anderson, born 1770-1780 per census calculations, perhaps in VA. The earliest record of him is his marriage on 24 Feb 1806 to Polly McNatt in Wilson Co., TN. By 1820, they were living in Lincoln Co., TN. He last appears in the 1830 census for Lincoln Co., TN. I am descended from their son, Richard Anderson, who married Martha Unknown (possibly Powell), presumably in Lincoln Co. By 1840, Richard and family had moved to Lawrence Co., MO. Children: Mary, born 1827 in TN; John, born 1830 in TN; Sarah, born 1832 in TN; Green Berry, born 1834 in TN; Elizabeth, born 1836 in TN; Philip, born 1843 in MO; Sophia, born 1845 in MO; and Taylor, born 1849 in MO. Since Philip does not appear to be a common name among the Andersons, hopefully someone will see a connection. Robert Strong

    1. Re: [ANDERSON-L] Knox Co & Anderson Co., TN Andersons 1805
    2. On the possibility that this got lost because I forgot to change the subject, I'd like to post it again. Does anyone have Andersons in Knox or Anderson Co., TN in 1805? I'm trying to separte two Anderson lines with similar information. Both were in the area of Anderson Co.(Knox Co.), TN in 1805. One is: 1. JOHN2 ANDERSON (WILLIAM1) was born 5 May 17501. Child of JOHN ANDERSON is: 2. i. JOHN3 ANDERSON, b. Abt. 1766, TN; d. 16 October 1830, Knox Co., TN. Generation No. 2 2. JOHN3 ANDERSON (JOHN2, WILLIAM1) was born Abt. 1766 in TN2, and died 16 October 1830 in Knox Co., TN3. He married MARY. Notes: Mary was the wife of John Anderson (per Mt. Hebron Primitive Baptist Church Records, Knox Co., TN). Child of JOHN ANDERSON and MARY is: 3. i. ELIZABETH4 ANDERSON, b. Abt. 1805, TN; d. Aft. 1869, MO. Generation No. 3 3. ELIZABETH4 ANDERSON (JOHN3, JOHN2, WILLIAM1) was born Abt. 1805 in TN4,5, and died Aft. 1869 in MO6. She married MILTON ANDREW JACKSON Bef. 1831. He was born Abt. 1805 in NC7,8, and died 15 August 1858 in St. Francois Co., MO 9. Notes for ELIZABETH ANDERSON: Witnessed a variety of pension papers and other documents in St. Francois Co., MO between 1865-1866 for her daughter, Rhoda. Children of ELIZABETH ANDERSON and MILTON JACKSON are: i. BARLETT5 JACKSON11, b. Abt. 1831, Anderson Co., TN. ii. MARY A. JACKSON11, b. Abt. 1834, Anderson Co., TN11; m. DRURY EZELL, 22 June 1851, Knox Co., TN11; b. Bef. 1834. 4. iii. RHODA ANGELINA JACKSON, b. 22 May 1836, Anderson Co., TN; d. 17 August 1900, Olympia, Washington. iv. RACHEL P. JACKSON11, b. Abt. 1839, Anderson Co., TN. v. DELITHA F. JACKSON11, b. 20 February 1841, Anderson Co., TN; m. JAMES BEARD, Abt. 1860; b. Abt. 1840, Indiana11. 5. vi. HESTER REBECCA JACKSON, b. 26 October 1843, Mt. Hebrone, Anderson Co., TN; d. Aft. 1886, MO. vii. GIDEON E. JACKSON11, b. Abt. 1847, Anderson Co., TN. The other line is: 1. JOHN3 ANDERSON (JOHN2, WILLIAM1) was born 5 October 1778 in Scott Co., VA1, and died 1814 in March to New Orleans. He married ELIZABETH MCNAIR, November 12, 1805 in Knox Co., TN. She was born Abt. 17802, and died Aft. 1850. Notes for ELIZABETH MCNAIR: John Anderson, Sr. to Elizabeth McNair by Robt Houston JP, Nov 12, 1805, bondsman John Adair. Child of JOHN ANDERSON and ELIZABETH MCNAIR is: i. JOHN4 ANDERSON, b. Bef. 1814. Does anyone have these John Andersons or any Andersons in Knox Co at about this time? Cynthia McDaniel

That way you will receive messages grouped together in one message for your review. Please try this option before just abandoning us. 1. Re: [ANDERSON-L] Re: Andersons in Ga. and No. Fl.
    2. Thanx so much for your reply. I don't know anything about Henry's parents. Know only that he was married on Jan. 12, 1825 to Alice Wells and had these two sons, Jeremiah, b. 1831, and Little Berry Andrew Cater, b. 1833. Jeremiah killed during WBS in 1862 at Sharpsburg. LBAC was wounded and sent home. By then they had migrated to Madison County, Fl. via Brooks Co., Ga. Most probable that henry was born abt. 1800. and Alice abt. 1805-1810. I'm sure that there must have been other children that I do not know about as it seems doubtful that there were none from 1826 to 1831. Henry and Alice are my paternal brick walls. Would love to know about them. Any help much appreciated. Jane
