Hello, Frances, I have an Elizabeth Alexander in my family line. She was in Union Co., GA area 1840-1870. I lose her after the 1870 census. She was approximately 50 according to the 1870 census. There was a Joseph Anderson in Union Co. also. He commanded the home guard (Confederate) for the Union, Fannin & Townes Counties during the Civil War. Joseph is not listed in the 1870 Union Co., census. Could these be the same people you listed? I will share my research if you are interested. Quentin Alexander

This sounds like his naturalization/citizenship papers. There probably are also some immigration papers as well. Hi Stephen I also have papers that are similiar to yours, mine are from PA dated Apr 7th 1906. I also wondered if there were additional papers. It says at the end it of the document: The court admitted the said Andrzej Raczewski to become a Citizen of the U. S and ordered all the proceedings aforesaid to be recorded by the Prothonotary of the said Court; which was done accordingly. The words... proceedings aforsaid... seems to me like there should be prior papers to this...but on the 1910 and 1920 census Andrzej states he is not a citizen but then again maybe he didn't understand the question as he and his wife only spoke polish... Glad you brought this up I should check with the courts. Your posting made me look at this document more closely. My question to anyone on this list is: Are there any additional citizenship documents, application forms or other paperwork that I should be looking for that may provide more information about my great-grandfather, such as his parents names, births, immigration dates, etc., or is this it? Thanks, and Merry Christmas Stephen Carlile
