Does anyone have information on the children and grand children of one William Anderson, b. 1693 Scotland. To VA in 1715. Owned plantations in Prince George Co, then in 1738 to Conego-Chiega Manor in what became Hampshire Co. VA/WV. I feel I am descended from him but can't make a connection. Any help would be appreciated. Pat Johnson Cedarville, OH
Two Anderson lines. I'd appreciate any help. My greatgrandmother Edith Elizabeth Anderson, was born January 4, 1867 in Clinton, Iowa. She married Alfred Ross Burdin March 22, 1936 in Glendale, Wisconsin. She died September 17, 1936 in Spokane Washington. Parents were Edwin Anderson and Mary Elizabeth Green. Don't now much about him. He died about 1872 and Mary married (2) John Harris. Edith's siblings were Loran and Nettie. Edwin's siblings were Ida (married Merritt Allison), George, Henry, William, Anna (married to William MacKintosh and George Guy), and Joseph D (born about 1855 in Wisconsin and married to Ellen). William was lived in Elroy and LaCrosse Wisconsin. Joseph and Henry went to Eatonville Washington about 1900-1910. I believe his mother was Adaline. The 1910 census of Eatonville says Joseph's father was born in England and his mother New York. Elizabeth Anderson, born December 23 1741 and died September 16, 1823 at Colrain, Franklin County, Massachusetts. She was married to David Harroun. Her parents were John born about 1698 in Scotland and Mary born about 1700 maybe in NH. An LDS Ancestral File shows siblings William (b. about 1721), Thomas, Isabella, John, and Mary (born about 1730).

I cannot speak with authority, but I have a similar document from an English ancestor which served as his proof of citizenship, so it may be that there is no additional form. -----Original Message----- From: Stephen Carlile <sdcinc@teleport.com> To: ANDERSON-L@rootsweb.com <ANDERSON-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Friday, December 17, 1999 1:12 PM Subject: [ANDERSON-L] Citizenship > I have a copy of a United States of America, State of Kansas, Mitchell County form dated March 3, 1884 wherein Swan Anderson, a native of Sweden, swears his intention to become a citizen of the United States, and renounces all allegiance to the King of Sweden and Norway. Frances, You'll have to contact the Probate Judges office in Elbert Co. for those records of the Poor School (Public School). As for moving...well it's still in Virginia and yes still in Colonial Heights, just moving out of the In -laws house..LOL. I'll send a follow up via private e-mail on the address. David Anderson

Wondered if anyone out there had any Andersons that moved from Kentucky to Missouri prior to 1850 or so. I'm looking for the parents of James Harrison Anderson b. 1858 in Missouri and married to Sarah Jane Cathey. They lived at Rich Hill, Bates County, Missouri. From the 1910 Bates census, I know James Anderson's father was born in Kentucky and his mother in Tennessee....that's all I know. James did have a brother named Frank or Franklin. Joe E. Wallen Johnson City, TN
Sorry, that isn't my Joseph Anderson. He was in the SC Confederacy and lost a leg in service. He lived out the balance of his life in Elbert Co., GA. Thanks very much. Merry Christmas to you. Frances Hall
David, Who would I contact to order these school records? You are amazing, you just keep learning more & more about our families. Where are you moving? Merry Christmas. Frances
Frances, I belive the proof will be in school records that have been recently found in the Elbert Co. GA Courthouse basement. I remember briefly reading in an issue of the Savannah River Valley Genealogical Society SRVGS newsletter, in an article, ( I have a copy of that article somewhere but I'm in the process of moving again, however back issues of the newsletter can be ordered ) showed that Joseph E. Anderson was a student in an Elbert Co. Poor School ( which is now known as a public school ) it showed that James E. and Elizabeth M. Anderson as the parents. On another note, I think we are going to find our Anderson's as well in Oglethorpe Co. GA also the Mobley's will be found there as well. David Anderson
