HI Jane: I realize this may be a dumb comment or question, but Have you looked in a Georgia, 1830 census index for Henry Anderson and Alice Wells in Telfair County, GA? If I come across any thing, I will give you a hollow. Regards, Charles. Diana, I can only PROVE back to John Anderson , Vinson & Amos's father. I You are from the Amos Anderson line? For what I know, Amos and Martha had one child named William who married Laney Sapp. Amos apparently remained in Tattanll county even when John came to Telfair to live with Vinson. Amos and John had land together in Tattnall county from the 1820's. Claudia At 06:34 PM 01/02/2000 -0800, you wrote: > >> >> Vinson (Vincent) Anderson in Telfair County is my gg grandfather. Thanks, Jane in Lakeland, Fl. > Hi Jane: I think that there may be a gen web page for Telfair Co Ga. If there is someone that does maintain a Gen Web page for the County, maybe you could e-mail them to do a search of the marriage records in the County Court House in MaRae for Henry Anderson and Alice Wells. I was at the court house in McRae about 2 years ago and did searches for George Anderson in the marriage books and deed books. However I didn't find anything. The best I remember there was some info about Vinson Anderson in the Deed books. Have you ever been into a county court house to look at their records? It is facinating. Buy the way, I grew up in Dundee, Fl and left there in 1943 when I was seventeen! I still have Anderson relatives in Polk county. I have a sixter that lives in Auburndale. Her name is Nell White. She is not online with a computer. Regards, Charles, and Happy New Year to everyone. I am also looking for more information about an Anderson inTelfair co, GA--Ignatius B Anderson married Rebecca Sharber in Telfair in 1837. I wonder if our two Andersons are connected. I haven't been able to find out anything else about I.B. though I think I did find him with some of his kids and his wife in the 1850 Telfair Co census. I have a few thoughts with regard to your James P. Anderson. First, Sterling ANDERSON was an unusal name. I have an uncle that was named Sterling Evans ANDERSON, b. abt 1911 in Harris Co., TX. His father was Sterling Don ANDERSON, b. 1887 McLennan Co., TX. His father was Stockton Donley ANDERSON, b. McLennan Co., TX. Stockton was named after TX Supreme Court Justice, DONLEY. Stockton's father was James M. ANDERSON, b. Lawrence Co., AL. Some evidence I have indicate James' father was Edmund Pierce ANDERSON. THis is very sketchy information, but I have more detail. I do not have much information on Edmund(Edmond). This family, from what I have, seems to have been established in Augusta Co., VA. Sincerely, Douglas Anderson
