There were a few Frank Andersons on something in that area. Maybe it was the SSDI. Anyway I sent you a map from mapquest.com and it was returned to me because your mailblocker stopped it. see:A MapQuest map has been sent to you by Zona Himmelsbach. Thought you might like to see the nearby villages to Gibson City in Ford County,Illinois. Hopefully info on Frank Anderson will be found eventually. He may have moved on. I did a general search on familysearch.org and lots of Frank Anderson's in IL on the death index two of which were 190? maybe 1905 and 1909 birthdates. The Anderson DNA Study group #6 has had some surprising results in the DNA matches and I thought I would share with you our findings. John Mahlon Anderson, Jr., and I have been researching our Anderson lines for many years but could not find proof that John's line, Thomas Anderson and Sally, were related to my husband's (Jene) line, William Anderson and Catherine Walling/Wallen. Some of the people that are on the Anderson-KY-NC-TN-VA mail list decided to start an Anderson DNA Study with FamilyTreeDNA. Herb Anderson agreed to be the project coordinator. Even after this group was started I was still leary of the DNA process not really knowing anything much about it at all. Last fall Jene and John participated in the DNA Study and were a 25/25 match with each other. This means that there is a 50% probability that the Most Recent Common Ancestor was no longer than 7 generations and a 90% probability that the Most Recent Common Ancestor was no longer than 16 generations; and a 95% probability that the MRCA is within 30.4 generations. So we determine that the Most Recent Common Ancestor is between 7 and 30.4 generations. Thomas Anderson was born about 1785. William Anderson was born about 1768 according to census records. This was exciting news! The DNA results had proven what the paper trail hadn't ... and that is that Jene and John are related. Jerry Anderson is also a 25/25 match with Jene and John. Jerry is descended from Daniel Anderson born about 1815. Daniel Anderson has a connection to Hawkins County TN relation but so far we have not found the connection to Jene and John. Now for some more exciting news. Brian Keith Anderson participated in the DNA Study. He is a 23/25 match with Jene, John and Jerry. His line descends from: Joran of Sweden Anders Joransson Ericus Joransson/Andersson Peter Andersson Ericus Anderson Peter Anderson John W. Anderson Nathaniel H. Anderson Edgar Anderson Abb Anderson Robert K. Anderson Brian Keith Anderson If he had been a 25/25 he would be in the same category with Jene, John and Jerry but since he's a 23/25 match then the Most Recent Common Ancestor % would be off somewhat. He has 12 generations of Anderson's whereas Jene and John have 6 generations documented. We don't know who the MRCA is but it is a 95% that the ancestor is within 30.4 generations and as close as 7 generations. This is my understanding of the DNA percentages for the MRCA and may not be exactly correct. Jerry's line is Daniel Anderson, b. ca 1815 in TN and d. ca 1889 in KY. Jene's line is: William Anderson, b. ca 1768 Stephen Anderson Mauccoy Anderson Orville Anderson Joseph Anderson Wathen Anderson Jene Anderson John's line is: Thomas Anderson, b. ca 1785 Harvey Anderson Mahlon Anderson Grover Anderson John Anderson Sr. John Anderson Jr. If you're interested in the Most Recent Common Ancestor percentages go to http://www.familytreedna.com/faq2.html If you're interested in participating in the Anderson DNA Study group please check out the web site at http://www.geocities.com/herb194/AndersonDNA.html and also http://www.familytreedna.com/ for more information. Looking for a Samuel Anderson, who with William H and John Jr., were party to leasing 384 acres of land from the Catawba Indian in 1789 on Wild Cat Creek in York Co. Sc. I have reason to believe that he is the brother to our John A. Anderson. Later in the Bibliography of the Catawba in the year of 1810, just John and William appear to least the land. John names one of his children Samuel. John was supposedly born 1771/1773 in Kershaw District. SC according to census. He, along with Samuel and William would have to be at least 16 years to appear on the record. Have been trying to find out who their parenta are. John anderson seems to be a popular name in the anderson family. The only one that comes close is John and Sarah Carney, who had sons John, Samuel and William. The 1789 recod list John as a Junior. Any help would be appreciated. Sally Anderson

The name of the town was Gibson City, IL. I also have some names from the backs of pictures that I will throw out. There was a young girl named Ruby Calhoune. There was a man named Herman Muser (Musser?) who they worked for and I think he had 3 daughters, at least 2. Two other men that they worked for were Jim Brownley and Harry Stralliff (sp?). Two other families that they worked for were the Hoovers and the Donars who were both associated with Brethren in Christ, and the Donar man was a preacher. I also attached a picture of Frank.

Anybody know the death date of Wiley Hogan "Hogue" Anderson? He died presumably either in Graves or Calloway Co KY after the Graves Co 1900 census. He was born in 1818 in Humphreys Co TN, married Margaret Smith in 1843 in Montgomery Co and had three children: 1) Ellen C. Anderson, b ca 1846, m James K. "Polk" Rinehart. 2) Margaret E. or Isabella Anderson, b ca 1848. 3) Missouri Amazon Anderson (1849-1936), m James T. Gupton. Can't find Wiley/Hogue in the KY death index at http://vitals.rootsweb.com/ky/death/search.cgi . Judging from the census, the entry of "Wiley F." Anderson, listed as dying in Graves Co at the age of 54 in 1913, is probably not an entry for Hogue with incorrect middle initial and age. Any help would be appreciated. Would like to hear from descendants of Missouri Gupton or Ellen Rinehart. Also would like to learn the names of Hogue's siblings. One brother was evidently Elijah Rudolph Anderson, b ca 1821, who married Mary B. Duffell and had children James b ca 1856, Mattie Emma b ca 1862 [m Asa W. Hutchi(n)son], and Wiley, b ca 1866. Andy Anderson =========== Hogue's biography from page 1002 of "The Goodspeed Histories of Montgomery, Robertson (et al.) Counties of Tennessee", 1886: "W. H. ANDERSON was born February 10, 1818, in Humphreys County, Tenn., and when a child moved with his parents to Montgomery County, where he still lives. His father, RICHARD ANDERSON, was born in Montgomery County in 1791, and there has always lived with the exception of a short time spent in Humphreys County, where our subject was born. The father, who was a useful citizen, married MARGARET RUDOLPH, who was born in 1791, and to whom were born six children. "The subject of this sketch was educated at home and in the common schools, attending the latter only a few weeks. He learned the carpenter's trade when young, and worked at that occupation a few years. He then followed farming, and acted as constable until 1847. He then purchased the White Oak mills and carried on milling for five years. He then sold his property and returned to Montgomery County, where he has since resided and farmed. In October of 1843 he married MARGARET E. SMITH, who was born in Montgomery County August 30, 1825. She was a daughter of JOHN SMITH, who was of German descent, and died about 1851. "Mr. and Mrs. Anderson became the parents of the following children: Ellen C., Margaret E. and Missouri A. Mrs. Anderson died in 1851. Our subject was a Whig as long as that party existed, and since that time has been independent. He has been magistrate of Montgomery County for 20 years and is at present magistrate of his civil district. He is a member of the Presbyterian Church, as was his wife. Mr. Anderson has taken such an active part in public life that he is now an exceptionally well-informed and intelligent man."
