    1. William Anderson and his family
    2. Michele
    3. Hello. I'm looking for help or information on finding my grandfathers history. I already have a lot but I'm wondering how far back I can go. I have a William Anderson to start. He married a woman with the last name of CREGG. He had a son named James Anderson (1795-1837). I would like to find out who William Anderson married and if they had more children besides James. James was bron in Washington Co, PA. and died in Vandalia, Butler Twn, Montgomer Co, Ohio. He married a girl named Mary Schnorf (1773 - 1840). They had AT LEAST one child named John S. Anderson (June 14 1793 - Feb. 8, 1867) I would like to know if they had anymore children. John S. Anderson went on to marry Margaret Elenah Carmony on Jan 26, 1826. She was born May 8, 1806 and died Dec 5th, 1885. They had the following children: John C., Oliver, Elizabeth, WIlliam, Henry, Isaac, Joseph, and Margaret. John Carmony Anderson married Harriet Jester on Jan 16th, 1862. She was born abt 1838. They had the following children: Oliver, James, John, Mary, Webster, Edward, Parker, Annie, Flora, Osa and possibly an "Ina". Oliver was my Great Grandfather. Oliver married Sarah Elizabeth Spencer Anderson on July 4th, 1881. Her DOB is unknown to me, but her DOD is 10-10-1932. They had the following children: Arthur Francis, William, and Mrs. J.B. Anderson Hill. Arthur married Carrie Ethel Savage and they had my grandfather, Arthur Bruce Anderson. "Bruce" went on to marry Norma Jean McIntyre and they had my mother, Cheryl Lynn Anderson-Robinson. I'm very interested to know ANY information that goes along with this. I have alot of other info but I didn't put it all in here because it is a lot. But whatever you have, I'll take. Thank you!! 3. Nancy Anderson was born in Tennessee in ca 1807. She married William Stevens/Stephens in either TN or Indiana. By 1835/1836 Nancy Anderson Stevens was living in Jasper Co. Illinois. She died in Logan Co. IL in 1854. Does anyone have any info on Andersons who moved from TN to IL in this time period? Also some Andersons connected to the family lived in Menard Co. (next to Logan Co.) during the same time period. They however were from NJ. Thanks for any help. Marilyn Stevens Partee

    3. As a matter of interest. The Kerrs were part of the Border Clans that were cleared out to Ulster against their will (or be hingit) and transported to Ulster, forming the Scotch-Irish who later moved to America, many of them as indentured servants, mainly to the Appalachians. The farthest back is MS in 1849, but believe origination was GA/SC. Tilman Thomas Anderson b: 1829, married Mary Wilbourne in 1849 in Itawamba MS. Their children: My ggrandfather George Pinkney Anderson b: 1859. Other children: James Thomas, Richard Albert, Dock, Frank, William, Ellen, E.J. He later married Mary Harwell and had Elizabeth, L.S., L.V, L.B., Fannie V. Mary in MS. Then he moved to TX (followed most of his sons who had already gone) and had Lee Edgar. He died in 1918 in Coreyelle County TX. I believe he was a junior, with his father being Tilman Thomas Anderson and mother Martha Baxter. A distant cousin is looking for them in Georgia. Thanks! Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Wl.2ADIB/3699.4073 Message Board Post: Does any of this sound familiar? I don't have a clue where the Pinkney came from, but have always wondered. George Pinkney Anderson b: 1859 in MS. His parents were Tilman Thomas Anderson b: 1829 (don't know where, suspect GA, SC) and died in TX 1918. He married first Mary Wilborne in Itawamba MS in 1949. Other children besides George Pinkney were James Albert, Marshall, Dock, Frank, William, Ellen, and E.J. Many of the brothers moved to Texas, and father Tilman followed them later. Evidentally Mary died sometime before 1872, and he remarried Mary Harwell. All children but last were born in MS, last was in TX in 1883. (Elizabeth, L.S., L.V., L.B., Fannie V. Mary, and Edgar). The farthest back I have is a guess. I am guessing Tilman Thomas Anderson was a junior, with his father being Tilman Thomas Anderson who married Martha Baxter. A distant cousin is trying to place them in Georgia. A land grant was made to the son, so she is guessing maybe Tilman died shortly after his son was born, so no other sibs to try to locate. I don't know when Tilman (jr) went from GA to MS, but again, earliest we have is when he married in 1849. Thanks for any clues. [email protected]
