My grandmother was the AMY in my line. Her father Henry Wilford AMY (son of Jesse and Mahala) had 4 sons, one of which died young, one never married, one had no children, and the last had only an adopted son. So, I have to go back to descendants of other sons of Jesse and Mahala to find the closest male AMY to me. Just this past year DNA matches opened up links and new information of one my lines that had been stuck with no progress for 30 years. Hopefully DNA would do the same thing on the AMY line. In addition to finding a descendant of Joseph that would be willing to DNA test, we would need to find descendants of other (particularly Pennsylvania) AMY/EMIGH/AMIGH, etc. lines that would test.
