In particular, I'd be very interested in any photos of great-grandchildren (specifically James Oscar Amy who was my grandfather from Kirk, Colorado). Also, I seem to recall my grandmother (Florence D. Amy) as stating that the Amy line originated in "White Russia" - whatever that means. I have run into the same roadblock with Joseph Amy that your webpage spoke of - I cannot find any history beyond PA.

I think that you are correct about Edwin M. Amy. He's in your family tree, but not the Eddie Amy that I was looking for. I do think that the Charles Amy that you found in the 1910 census living in Eagle Harbor, Kitsap County, WA with a second wife is the Charles Amy that was once married to Mary E. Hoskinson. He's living in the same area where Mary's parents and brothers and sister lived. You said that the 1920 census lists Emma Amy as living in "WA King 177-WD; Seattle". Does the WD stand for widowed? What does the 177 stand for?

I find Eddie might be Edwin M. age 32 living in WA King 13-WD Seattle in 1910, but he is born in MI and his father born in NH and mother born England (and is my relative, have his ancestors info). So possibly he is a visiting relative in the picture? I do not find Charles in 1900 but, in 1910 Charles age 70 born in Vermont is living in WA Kitsap Eagle Harbor Pct. with wife Emma age 53 born in Indiana. This is a second marriage for both Charles and Emma. Charles' parents are also listed as both being born in VT. Emma's parents are born KY & TN. Emma is listed as giving birth to 3 with 2 living. Charles dies between 1910 & 1920 as in 1920 Emma is listed as a housekeeper living in WA King 177-WD; Seattle. There is a discrepancy in her age as she is now listed as age 75. Probably an error on the 1910 census.

Another person just e-mailed me that Mary E. (Hoskinson) Amy died August 1, 1875 in Osage County, Kansas. I think that Charles and Mary E. Amy may have had a son Eddie Amy born between 1873 and 1875. There is an Eddie Amy in a group photo in the Kitsap County, WA history book with some Hoskinson family members. Charles Amy may have remarried. Is there any entry for Charles Amy (born circa 1841 in Vermont) in the 1900, 1910 or 1920 censuses, possibly with a son Eddie?
