    3. Hi Peter Hmmm.... That is interesting. From what I know 'Amy', and its variants as a surname, is predominately French or perhaps even more likely Norman. Someone once wrote a small piece on the surname, I have no idea who, and during my investigations I received a quote from someone who said that there where 4 main groupings of the name. My studies have mainly centred around the Channel Islands were the name is relatively common (although it is not really what you would call common anywhere). It occasionally turns up on the English mainland and I have still not discovered how it got to there. I have not come across any Huguenot connections but then again I have not been looking any either.     3. Good Afternoon All I am unsure wether the first post of this worked or not. I am looking for any information on Frederick Ogden AMY. In 1899 he sailed to Canada on-board the SS Vancouver. In 1907 he was in Hong Kong. Between 1911 and 1915 he married Ethel Goulbourn in Shanghai, China. They had two children: Gladys Usborne circa 1916-20, John Emerson approx 1923 In 1920 he was appointed and as Assistant Inspector of Public Works for the Shanghai Municipal Council.
