According to census records, there was a Charles Amy living in Burlingame, Osage County, Kansas, in 1870. He was born about 1841 in Vermont. In 1860, a Charles Amy -- born about 1842 in Vermont -- was living in Lisbon, New London County, Connecticut. I'd say he's probably the same fellow. But in both 1860 and 1870, he's the only "Amy" living in the household. So there's no lead as to who his parents might have been. In the 1850 census, there's a Charles Amy living in Jay, Orleans County, Vermont. His estimated birth year is given as 1849, but maybe that's a mistake. He was living with a Lorne and Alvira Amy. So it's quite possible that these were his parents. (Hoskinson) Amy, born circa 1851 in PA; died in 1875 in Louisiana in your family history? I know that Mary E. was the daughter of Civil War veteran Riley M. and Martha (Fisher) Hoskinson, and that she married Mr. Amy sometime after 1870. In 1870 Mary was still living with her parents in Burlingame, Osage County, Kansas. I would like to find this Mr. Amy's first name and to find out if he and Mary had any children.

Lawrence Amey married Mary Brakest. If you have any clue as to where they came from, or who their parent might be, I sure would love to know. I am keeping a copy of the info you sent, in case it ever connects with mine. Thanks, Nan

You can see information about Ira AMY and his AMY/MINGLES/APPLEGATE, etc. ancestry on my page at: http://home.netcom.com/~fzsaund/amy.html Make sure to check both the individual family pages, as well as the generation pages, as I do not have individual pages up for all of the surnames. Let me know if you want to view the AMY pictures, as they can see pictures of several generations of their ancestry, including Lafe, Ira, Jesse, and Joseph AMY. Which George AMY are you connected to? Is he in your direct ancestry, or just collateral? There are also pictures there of one of the George AMYs and two of his wives. Would you happen to be able to identify which picture is which wife? Good Afternoon Emerson (Well at least it is here.) Hi Julie. Emerson - Julie is my cousin xx times removed. And there is even some family resemblance - we both wear glasses. I sent her all the details I had some time ago so she should be right for most of it. I have also tracked back into the Usborne line as well if either of you need that. Last but not least I have also posted back to the Channel Island List. (That is one of which I have 3000 unread emails - see what happens when you let work take over.
