Hello Dani, I posted a very brief definition of Fuselier on this mailing list a couple of months ago. See the thread “Hessian Terminology/Silent Film” dated 1 March 2012. FUSILIER was originally the name of a soldier armed with a light flintlock musket called the fusil. The word was first used around 1680, and has later developed into a regimental designation.
