    3. Hello: I recently saw your post in reference to the Hessian soldiers Brunswick Musketeer Reg. Specht. My 5G grandfather was also in this regiment. I do not have too much information about him. His name is Charles Hess (but was Carl Hesse on the Hessian soldier's records). I know he was a prisoner of war in Frederick, Maryland, and was sent out to work on local farms. He ended up staying in America after the war and married the farmer's daughter Magdalene Long. They continued to live around Taneytown Maryland. I would love to touch base with you and find out any information you have on this regiment. I know that your post is more than 2 years old, so you may not still be working on your family history, but I wanted to try anyways. Thank you Sandy Hess-Beats [email protected]

    3. I am still researching my Hessian but he went to Nova Scotia and served with Col. Michael von Janecke with the Frei Corps and was in New York essentially on guard duty.
