    3. My Very Great Grandfather a true hessian soldier jailed after one of the last battles against the Contienental Army arrived on the German Ship The Friessen. My ancestors have compiled a lengthy 642 page book on our family. The Book is entitled "The Linkous Family History Expanded" By Clovis E. Linkous . Emaline Linkous and Alexander Gilmore are my Granmothers Parents. My great grandmother is directly realated through Charles linkous and Alexander linkous (1795-1861) Henry (Heinrich) linkous 1744-1822....His Father is Conradus Linckost 1710-1774.....My Father served 20 yrs in the Military. My uncles Billy and Woodrow served during WWII...I am a Vietnam Era Vet and decorated veteran from 2/66 Armor 1st Infantry Division. My Son and nephews have 11 years combined combat experience with the infantry in direct combat. I Don't think you will find a Linkous or Linckost from our family that deserted in any conflict. As I know it from Clovis Linkous we have a Family Homestead from Heinrich (Henry) Linkous in Blacksburg dating back to 1799. I have no idea who owns this homestead! I can only hope it is still with the Family.
