HETRINA (LAGIS Search) indicates "arrested after desertion". NOTE: While your at it.. would you please look up the brother - His brother, Michael Schmidt, born 1749 in Bottendorf (Burgwald), laborer with Huyn Garrison Regiment, deserted November 1782. Both of these brothers were believed to have continued their lives in America. References of their relatives in Bottendorf in later years indicate they were still alive.
