Can you tell me if there was a Johann Jorge Blum or George Bloom that served ith the Hessian Army that fought against the Colonists? aybe it would tell if he deserted them or was captured. I appreciate your help. hank you. uzanne BTW: Bob Fetters, I have Fetters in my family. My Dad's sister married into hat family. By the ay, British soldier deserters do not qualify in the same way. A former ational President of the SAR became a member based upon his Hessian ncestor's military service for America, after he deserted. THe Military service? But George Bloom was a colonist? We don't do the American side.. we research the Hessians. The Germanic soldiers who stayed here. You need to find his military records try the national archives. look for record of service and or pension application. Now I'm confused... Are Hessians being used to join the DAR? nelda Nelda L.
