I have known for some time of my Hessen ancestor, but have only recently found info on this site (hurray!) about what part he played. I found him listed under von Lossberg's regiment, Hessian-Kassel. He is listed as mustered out in June 1783. He is married and has a child one year later in Berks County. He is listed in a history of Berks book as a man of means. I have found his will, completely in old-time German, of course, and haven't had it trancscribed yet, though I recognize the children's names. My question to the group is about von Lossberg's regiment. Is there something I may have missed? A diary or journal or battles fought? I did find he survived. I am German on both my maternal and paternal sides, and am proud of my very hard-working ancestors! Anyway, this is a wonderful site!
