Mr. Merz wrote that Christmas was "the most "Christian of all Christian holidays" Isn't Easter supposed to be the highest "Christian" holiday? I don't know much about Washington's affiliation with Christianity but, since he was a Mason and (possibly) a Deist (along with many other Founding Fathers), he may not have been too concerned with Xmas.
