Thanks Barbara. Forestville is in Shenandoah county. A few miles further west, in Rockingham County, is the present town of Timberville. It is the location of Rader's Church. My ancestor Matthias (Matthaeus Konrad) Will of Company 5 (grendadier) of the Bayreuth regiment received a land grant near there for 28 acres which was officially granted in the early 1790's. Matthaeus showed up there in the mid 1780's as a member of the county militia. He left a wife and daughter behind in Bayreuth and apparently died around 1803. He had four more children in VA by Catherine Maria Sivley. I assume that he joined the militia or a Virginia regiment to find his way out of the prison camp at Frederick, MD around 1782. His son John Henry Will relocated to New Market where his house is still standing on Main Steet there.
