Hello, I don't have anything on the possible location but I do have Johann Friedrich Bode, ensign of the Rethz regiment, Brunswick Troups reported dead 19-09-1783 at Stade (Wilhelmy, p. 177). Could this be the same individual ? Sorry, that's all I can offer for the moment, Dominique Ritchot John Merz a écrit : > Forwarded to right mail list address, and btw. > this place name is an obvious misspelling, and not even me > can come up with a solution in this case. Dominique, please don't let yourself be confused by Ronald Brelsford. His ancestor BODE has nothing to do with the original question (he just threw it in to show who 'he' is interested in) The original question was and still is the place of birth for the mother of that 'famous' French-Canadian Genealogist, who you said was a descendant of the Hanau Jaeger Anton Barthel - you did mention a postal code D3512 for Sevenhagen, which must be somewhere outside the City of Kassel, Which used to be D3500, but still in the Hessen area. I still maintain that this must be a misspelling, but the postal code should be a good lead - one would have to check for nearby places with same postalcode. I wished I could do that, but my research material is in good hands in Ameliasburg. I have no way of checking things out anymore. What did Virginia DeMarce have to say about the place of birth? Turning in for today, I remain yours truly John Merz. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dominique Ritchot" <ritchotd@videotron.ca> > > I don't have anything on the possible location but I do have Johann Friedrich > Bode, ensign of the Rethz regiment, Brunswick Troups reported dead 19-09-1783 > at Stade (Wilhelmy, p. 177).
