Dear John, How I hate to write. Remember that from the song about a good bye letter to a soldier in the field during WW11? That one was from a lady saying she had another love. Well, this one is from a lady who must say good bye to a soldier who fought to find the ancestors roots for many who will always be grateful. Sometimes I think John is a reborn Hessian Soldier. He has born his musket of genealogy and dedication to the remembrance of the Hessian soldier smartly on his shoulder for a long time. We all know the famous statement of General Mc Authur "Old Soldiers never die they just pass away". They pass away to enjoy happy times of a long and rewarding life. Such it is for John. It is not easy to pass on a torch, it is a great sacrifice to give up that which you have loved and nourished. John we all have seen your love and dedication over the past years.
