    3. Hello Cliff, ain't that the pits - for many years I have tried to get subscribers of my Hessenland list to provide me with names of soldiers from their particular town or village - and with a few exceptions nobody bothered. Myself never sorted those 6000 soldiers out, who stayed here, other than alphabethically, except once when writing about "The Hessians of Nova Scotia", because in my belief that those Hessians somehow stuck together in a new land, I looked at everyone's place of birth, wasn't to hard, there were only 235 of them. And guess what, there was one from Biedenkopf, but the funny part was, he served with the Anhalt-Zerbst troops. His name was Johann Ludwig WAMBACH, and he was from Biedenkopf-Breidenstein. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cliff Thompson" <cfthomp@friend.ly.net> To: "John Merz" <hessian@sympatico.ca> Sent: Monday, October 25, 2004 3:58 PM Subject: Re: Prussian soldiers from Hesse-Darmstadt > Hi John, > Thanks.
