Dear Susan; Thanks again for buying my book, the "GUIDE', and it will go out in the morning. I will include a photocopy of a page out of my 'Hessians of Nova Scotia' book about a Johann Christoph WAGNER, who was a Chaplain in the Ansbach-Bayreuth Regiment, which was captured at Yorktown, Virginia in Oct. 1781, and was brought to Frederick, Maryland, where he was promised a congregation. But he did go with other soldiers of the Regiment to settle in Nova Scotia after the war ended, and he received a rather large landgrant. But somehow he run into a problem with the local Anglican priest, and took his family and it was said that he returned to Germany. I don't know whether or not that is true, but it could well be that he returned to Frederick. He was married and had 5 children. I do have a sneaky feeling that he rather went to Maryland instead of returning to Germany. My Hessian files are not available to me anymore, they are packed and are being shipped to the S.A.R. in Louisville, Kentucky, hopefully by Monday this coming week. Genealogy (Item #2496096702) Hi John, I'm still working on confirming him as my gggg grandfather, but his name was Christopher Waggoner (Wagoner/Wagner) and by 1792, he was residing in Oldtown (aka Skipton), MD. He lived out his days there and is buried there. It can get confusing because there are a few Christopher/Christians floating around that area of MD and just over the PA border. There was a Christofor Waggoner from Washington Co., MD who was given or purchased part of a land tract known as Caledonia, but I don't know which guy that was and can't find where Caledonia was. I believe there was at least one Christopher who was a POW in Ft. Frederick. As I've said, I'm reading each and every message on AMREV-Hessians as I have the time and am determined if this can be figured out, I'll do it. So, of course, one of the first things I concluded was that I need your Guide. Thank you! Genealogy (Item #2496096702) Hello Susan, thank you for your buying and paying before I even clicked on 'Invoice' :) If you have a Hessian in your tree, give me his name and perhaps, just perhaps, I have something on him. Cheers, John Merz
