    3. To all the visitors who came to the 'HESSIAN DAY' at the Rose House Museum on Saturday, the 21. August 2004: I personally wish to thank all the visitors from near and far who came on this beautiful sunny Saturday to celebrate with us and made it an exceptionally wonderful day. I was very happy to see so many people, ans as one lady told me, she came 2900 miles to attend our Hessian pioneer ancestors celebration. We also had a Hessian Jaeger in uniform and his wife as a camp follower come up from Pennsylvania to show us how it was during the American Revolution. He took the microphone and spoke of his experineces. Many Hessian descendants met new cousins, and we all were entertained with good German accordion music, and the Bratwurst was delicious. If any visitors want to tell us about their impressions and experiences, please write to the list you belong to. We'll be glad to hear about. All in all it was a beautiful day!! Who couldn't come, it was your loss, you missed so much. My thanks in particular to Mrs. Susan Rose, curator of the Museum for an outstanding organization, and all the officials from the County, I enjoyed every minute of this day. Thanks to all. Yours very truly John Helmut Merz, (back home in Hamilton, and resting my weary bones ;) (Note from e-mail on 19.Aug.2004) To all the many descendants of those settlers in Township #5, Marysburg, Bay of Quinte, it's only two days to the beginning of this exciting event. =
