Hello folks, After having rested and having spent another few days up in Huntsville, Ontario's Muskoka region with my relatives who were visiting from Germany, I finally can acknowledge that we all had a wonderful time and everything went very well. Here is what Susan Rose, the curator of the Rose House wrote to me after the event on Saturday, and on the Monday after. My personal thanks to everybody who made this such a success. John Helmut Merz, back in Hamilton with lots of work to do. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rose House Museum" <rosemuseum@pecounty.on.ca> To: "John Merz" <hessian@sympatico.ca> Sent: Monday, August 23, 2004 10:47 PM Subject: RE: "HESSIAN DAY" at the Rose House - > Hello John..well I hope you are resting up! the day was wonderful and we sure have received great coverage. I will send you all the articles and photos I receive. My bosses in the office are so glad and are overwhelmed at the number of calls that have come, saying what a great day the people had and such a great place 'Rose House' and the wonderful job you, John, did for our Community! I will be in touch of course. I too wanted to thank you family for all their help..but everyone got away so fast! I had a good chat with the Nortons' and gave them some appreciation gifts from Rose House, and paid their accomodations- they did a great job and answer a lot of questions too! Again John thank you from the bottom of my heart, I found it a very emotional day,,thinking how my father in law (last Rose born in the house) would have really enjoyed the day. Take care..Susan at Rose House > > -----Original Message----- > From: John Merz [mailto:hessian@sympatico.ca] > Sent: Mon 8/23/2004 10:48 AM > To: Rose House Museum > Subject: Re: "HESSIAN DAY" at the Rose House - > > Dear Susan; > We arrived home last night tired and bushed, but happy that > everything went so well.
