    1. Countdown to "HESSIAN DAY" at the Rose House - Saturday, 21. August 2004.
    2. John Merz
    3. To all the many descendants of those settlers in Township #5, Marysburg, Bay of Quinte, it's only two days to the beginning of this exciting event. = No reservations needed, just bring yourself and family, and some change to buy a Hessian descendants lapel pin, or a small booklet about the Hessiand settlers, their names and biographies, and for the good German food which is being served by the Rose House staff. Bring your family charts, or mementoes, and meet your cousins from all over. Make new friends, and above all ... meet me and my wife and little (not so little anymore) Pauli, my grandson and able assistant. He will be helping me selling the Hessians pins - one for $4.00 or 3 for $10. As a Hessian descendant you will be proud to wear one on your cap or lapel. How do you get to the Rose House? From Toronto or Montreal go Highway 401 direction Kingston-Bellevile. than use the Loyalist Parkway (Highway 33 to Bloomfield, Picton. In Picton through the town yo turn right to the Marysburg Township and Waupoos Island. The Rose House is located on County Road 8. It is about 2 hours from Toronto, 3 hours from Montreal. Today is Thursday, see you there day after tomorrow. Official start 11 A.M. Cheers John Helmut Merz (btw. - I am not being paid by anybody for anything - I do it all for the fun of it and the honour of meeting so many nice people)
