Hallo Hessians and hello Nelda! I am pleasantly surprised how your idea of creating a special webpage is developing so nicely, and I am happy that you are finding support among the 'serious' Hessian researchers. My kudoos to Barry for his participation. One more suggestion for you Nelda - although there are about 5-600 of my Guide's in various locations in America, it contains an article "Hessian Prisoners in American hands", on pages 26 to 30. It gives the route the Convention prisoners took from Saratoga to Boston, and a year later from Boston to Virginia., with maps and precise dates. I herewith give you written permission to obtain a copy and add it to your website. Perhaps someone can scan it to you and from there on it should be no problem. This would be a tremendous help for those Hessian descendants who are trying to find out when and where their ancestor escaped. Of course this covers only the thousands of Convention prisoners. Hope this will help your project which has my full support. Greetings John Helmut Merz retired at the shores of Lake Ontario. http://home.wtal.de/famfey/hallo_hessenland.htm
