Collection of The Shelburne County Museum, 1783, Jordan Falls, Shelburne County, Nova Scotia, Canada. This early nineteenth century water colour depicts the George Swansburg homestead on the Jordan Post road just east of Shelburne. It represents, in some small way, those individuals of Loyalist decent who persevered to wrestle a livelihood from the poor glacial soils of Shelburne County. George Swansburg was the son of Christian Swinesburg, a Loyalist of Swedish origin who came from Hesse-Kassel, Germany and served as an armourer in a Hessian Regiment fighting with the British during The American Revolution.". Just thinking... /R Stephen Washington, DC >-----Original Message----- >From: Nelda Percival [mailto:nelda_percival@hotmail.com] >Sent: Friday, July 29, 2005 08:05 PM >To: AMREV-HESSIANS-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: [HESSIAN] REVISED WEBSITE > >Hi, >Want to take a look? > >Hessian list website: >http://freepages.military.rootsweb.com/~bonsteinandgilpin/ > >John your information is wondrful...
