    1. Re: [HESSIAN] John's Hessian Website
    2. Hessian Listers, John's Hessian web page was instrumental to my early research. I printed several of the pages and kept them in my research journal. I would have been lost without John's web site as a reference. As a result of John's knowledge and with the help of cousins Karen Grovestine Powell, and Bill and Boston Bob Swansburg I have a much better understanding , I now have five generations of my Hessian soldier decendents here in North America and I communicate with distant cousins in Hessia. John's idea to re-utilize his page is great and we should embrace it! /R Stephen LTC, US Army, Pentagon and a fifth greatgrandson of PVT Christian Schweinsberger, Armorer, Landgraf Regiment. >-----Original Message----- >From: john [mailto:jmerz@cogeco.ca] >Sent: Friday, July 29, 2005 04:38 PM >To: AMREV-HESSIANS-L@rootsweb.com >Subject: Re: [HESSIAN] John's Hessian Website > >Nelda - >you asked me if I would write an introduction to the new >webpage. >I offer you a much greater opportunity which will help you >and our new subscriber immensily. > >I found that since my own webpage is off the Internet, those >people with questions had nowhere to turn to anymore. >My fault really, because I just let my webpage drop when I >left the AMREV-HESSIANS list to you. > >I herewith give you my permission to use my webpage as >you see fit - you can find it here on the Way-Back machine > >http://web.archive.org/collections/web.html > >and type in http://www.cgo.wave.ca/~hessian >or the older version http://cgocable.net/~hessian > >It does take a little time to load up, so be patient, some of my >pictures do not show anymore, also the flag in the centre, which >was the German flag (the new one, pardon me) but watch for >underlying text, where you can click on for additional pages, >like click on >The Hessians and the American Revolution, gives you all the >different Regiments, numbers, etc. > >Trusting that this will help you with your new page, >I remain yours truly, and good luck. > >John Helmut Merz >(btw. the Way-Back machine brings back other gone-by webpages) >----- Original Message ----- >From: "Nelda Percival" <nelda_percival@hotmail.com> >To: <AMREV-HESSIANS-L@rootsweb.com> >Sent: Friday, July 29, 2005 4:46 PM >Subject: Re: [HESSIAN] Hessian Website > > >> Hi, >> WE could have a section for those who are still researching too! >> Nelda > >> For Hessian research in Canada contact the Marilyn Adams Genealogical >Research Centre, Ameliasburg, Ontario e-mail 7thtownmagrc@kos.net or check >the mail list archives of this list for address. >> You can search the archives for a specific message or browse them, going >from one message to another. >> To search: http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/?list=AMREV-HESSIANS >> To browse: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/AMREV-HESSIANS-L >> **************** > > >==== AMREV-HESSIANS Mailing List ==== >Hessian list website: >http://freepages.military.rootsweb.com/~bonsteinandgilpin/ >For Hessian research in Canada contact the Marilyn Adams Genealogical Research Centre, Ameliasburg, Ontario e-mail 7thtownmagrc@kos.net or check the mail list archives of this list for address. >You can search the archives for a specific message or browse them, going from one message to another. >To search: http://listsearches.rootsweb.com/?list=AMREV-HESSIANS >To browse: http://archiver.rootsweb.com/AMREV-HESSIANS-L >**************** > >============================== >Jumpstart your genealogy with OneWorldTree.
