I've been following the recent dialogue regarding John Merz's trip and his desire for Hessian ancestral grave photos, etc. I have photos of headstones for my great grandfather, Solomon White, who was grandson of purported Hessian, Johannes Weiss (still trying to trace him), and Karl Haldermann, a Brunswicker, captured at Saratoga. No plaque yet -- would have to co-ordinate with the many other living descendents if I ever affirm in fact that Johannes was Hessian and not Brunswicker like Karl. I have briefly searched the Blue Grass/Straight Creek area of VA looking for ancestral graves but found nothing yet. John White Newcastle, WA
