    3. Dear Ed, and all other Hessian descendants; nothwithstanding 'Nelda's' Hellalujah to the well-known Schilling story, and your constant promotion of Sylvia's Hessian list, anything that tells the story of 'our' Hessians is welcome. By the way I do love Sylvia, I love her music too. Ask her! But words don't do the trick alone - we want our Hessians recognized by deeds, and by that I mean by some action by descendants, so the world knows about them, not just our mail list subscribers. That brings me around to your question - are the Hessian Soldier and Hessian Descendant Plaques still available. Yes! They are still available, I just heard it from the Bronzeworks. Their website is http://www.crbronzeworks.com/hessian/ and don't you worry, nobody is making any money or sales commissions when you buy direct. Long live the memory of our Hessian forefathers, and Peggy, you are a cousin of Emmi's, my wife, through the Westphal's. Cheers, John Helmut Merz (I am treally getting into the spirit for my trip, can you tell?) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ed Maul" <edmaul@optonline.net> Sent: Tuesday, May 24, 2005 11:00 AM Subject: Re:Re: [HESSIAN] Re: Trip to Hanau, Germany. in June 2005. 3. Hi John, Gee, thanks for your approval of my Hellalujah to the well-known Schilling story, But, that story may not be as well known to the next person looking for information on that particular Schilling as you think. Buying a Plaque is not the only deed or action a person can take in making a memorial to thier Hessian. Researching and learning about them is just as important. Sharing your Hessian History on line as in a website will be actually seen by more people then visitors to a cemetery, not that, that is not a good way to recognise your ancestor... it is. We Bonsteins have been talking about it too.. On our Bonstein mailing list (which I created and run as another memorial to "OUR" Hessian) and privately... (we just have no place to put one...) Now taking pictures of that plaque and the tombstone and sharing that on your website, just think of how many people get to see that... well my memorial website has been visited by over 29,000 people just in a year and a half. Pretty good amount of people finding out about "OUR" Hessian I'd say... We have been putting descendant pictures with each person's entry as I get them, so everyone can see his descendants. We reciently got a picture of the Original home they lived in... and pictures of the church they were Baptisted in.... all on the website. Keep up the good work John... Nelda LM Nelda L.
