    3. Greetings, On Sunday a dozen of us stood at the grave of John Andrew Isense in West Springfield MA while I read a short story on the lightning strike that killed him shortly after he settled here to farm. His sandstone marker was carved by Solomon Brewer, a talented local gravestone carver who also carved gravestones for the town's elite. Someone cared enough to have the stone made and erected in his memory. I believe he left no descendants, so we make a special effort to visit the burial site, and discuss the march of the Hessians through town on the way to the coast. Hello Hessian descendants; So far I have heard from one of you supporting me with pictures from Hessian grave dedication with a plaque. Don't tell me you missed my appeal of 10 days ago. Don't tell me that nobody else but Robert Fetters honored his Hessian ancestor. Don't tell me that this "Hessian Soldier" plaque and the "Hessian Descendant" plaque was a wash-out, and all the 'hoopla' was just a dream? Where are all those Hessian descendants who are so proud of their Hessian ancestor? I've got the last 12 Hessian lapel pins from Bob Fetters and will be pinning them on the officials who will be greeting me over at the homeland of "your" Hessians, and just hope they don't ask me for pictures of Hessian plaques on their gravestones. Well, I can show them at least one, that of the Hessian Henrich Hammer, who also has a plaque of the 'Sons of the American Revolution' on the other side. John ////////////////////////////////////// What I am really hoping for perhaps a picture of a Hessian descendant (or descendants) in front of the S.A.R. display. (How about Charles?) Thanks in advance for all your help Btw. notice my new e-mail address - You know I did retire from the Hessians.
