Yes Jeri, I owe it all to John Merz, for steering me in the right direction and his guide book. John also had me contact researcher in Schlüchtern, Germany. He did a complete research for my Kaspar Spohn going back as far as 1536. If he had searched any further, I'm sure Adam & Eve would have come up on the family tree. So, you see, I am well satisfied with my paternal genealogy. It is that tiny fraction of time that Kaspar Spohn is a complete mystery, from his capture at Saratoga to his marriage in Berks county or Oley twnsp. I know the church he was buried at, but, but, but---- no one has a record of him. Tax records show he owned several acres , several cows, etc Arrah (Jim) Spohn
