I am not a DNA expert, but I have had had some tests from Family Tree DNA for myself. I can say without reservation, though, that there is no such thing as special "German" or "Hessian" DNA - it does not work that way, although the regions of ancient peoples can be isolated with excavations . There is absolutely no such thing as "American/Anglo Saxon "blood/DNA". The only "American blood" DNA is that of Native Americans. There are various DNA types of European peoples. My Y-DNA is called E3b, which is not very common in Northern Europe - although it is "Indo-European", it is associated with the Mediteranian. We surmise that a male from there came up north (my male line comes from Germany) in the Neo-Neolithic expansion. Other men that have had the same test done, whose (male) ancestry is Dutch, Swedish, etc., have had the same type.
