Hi Eric, Your: I hope you allow some discussion of the soldiers of the War of 1812, as some ancestors, such as mine, served in both. No I'm sorry, this list from creation by John in 1998 has always been just Hessians of the American Rev War. It must remain that way.. with over 500 members... who are here for Hessians, it would be unfair to burden thier mail boxes with unrelated subjects. Saying something like John Jacob Bonstein served 0000 to 0000 as a Hessian and then in the War of 1812 date 0000 - 0000 ... would be ok but to discuss his service in the 1812 is off topic... I am sure there is a War of 1812 mailing list at rootsweb.com and if there isn't then by all means start one. I might enjoy joining it myself as I have quite a few 1812 War Vets myself... Nelda List Maintainer...LOL just found new term at the hessian lists tool page.. Pax et bonum! Nelda L. Percival nee Gilpin http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~bonsteinandgilpin/ http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~gillock/ http://doodleartgraphics.com
