I guess I agree with the learned Bob Brooks. DNA testing is only as helpful as the pool of samples from suppliers. If those in the bloodline one is researching don't happen to participate there's no help. Searching in the U.S. might be easier (?), but to go back 2, 3, or four hundred years overseas--even if the YDNA were found--would do little to supply names, dates, etc. Localities where the gene pool might occur would perhaps??? be useful.
