John: Found your man in the book. Peter Herr, b. 1758/59 Eschwege. Private, Hessian Erbprinz Regt., Col. von Cochenhausen Co., deserted Aug. 1781. It says he was a tailor, bought lot no.198 in Hagerstown on 11 Mar 1789, was in the 1790 census for Washington Co., Hagerstown district. John Peter Herr naturalized 22 Nov.1797. John P. Herr in 1800 census - same area. John P. Herr residing in Smith Borough in 1820. In 1825, John Peter Herr and wife Susanna of Fairfield Co., OH, sell 1/2 of lot no.82 in Hagerstown. There's a list of 11 children for him and wife Susanna. If you're interested in those, I'll send them in a seperate e-mail. Kuhn Communications is located in Walnut Bottom, PA , mid-way between Carlisle and Shippensburg. Not aware of Mr. Kuhn's first name. Quite a few families here in west end of Cumberland County.
