Richard -- In _Johannes Schwalm The Hessian_ (Johannes Schwalm Historical Assoc., 1976), pp. 229-241, is "A Combined List of prisoners held at Lancaster 1777-1778" containing a list of 712 German and 49 British POWs with the names of employers for about half the Germans. Alas, this list does not include a POW named JAKOB HACHENBERGER nor an employer named Captain Jakob Zimmerman. In fact, the list does not include a POW hamed Hachenberger or any similar name. As for employers, Bernard Zimmerman of Hempfield is listed as employing both Ludwig Landwehr of 2.Kompanie, Regiment von Losßerg, and Wilhelm Steinbrecker of Leibkompanie, Regiment von Knyphausen. In _Hessische Truppen im Amerikanischen Unabhangigkeitskrieg (HETRINA), Index nach Familiennamen_ [Hessian roops in the American Independencewar (HETRINA) Index by Familynames], vols II and III, I fail to find anyone named Hachenberger. These volumes cover the three regiments which were captured at Trenton NJ on 26 Dec 1776; i.e., Regiment von Loßberg, Regiment von Knyphausen, and Regiment Rall. I do not own HETRINA vol I which includes the composite Grenidier Battalions.
