Hi, I'm looking for help with Christoph Nicolaus. All I know about him is that he was in Regiment von Huyn and was listed as deserted in 1782 while in Charleston, possibly having something to do with the Stono conflict. I believe he later settled in the Charleston area and began a clan of Nichols, but also may have had at least one son somewhere in Virginia, Pennsylvania or Maryland along the way, who was adopted by another family.
