Hello Hessians! I came across something pretty interesting tonight which I am sharing with the list. If it has been published or discussed earlier, I apologize. Here are a fcw links to a history teacher’s blog that are presented in a sort of mystery format. If the story is true, it reveals photos of an old buidling used to house Hessian prisoners, and the remains of the actual trench dug by seventy Hessian prisoners of war, captured by Washington's troops at the Battle of Trenton. The men were traded as forced labor and dug the trench under the supervision of the Elizabeth Iron Foundry in Brickerville. http://campmartintravels.blogspot.com/2011/04/hessian-prison-camp-part-1.html http://campmartintravels.blogspot.com/2011/04/hessian-prison-camp-part-2.html http://campmartintravels.blogspot.com/2011/05/hessian-prison-camp-part-3.html I would be very interested to know if anyone on the list knows of this place.
