My records show that Eugene Curtis Amidon was the son of Leonard's son Rev. John Smith Amidon. John Smith had another son named Charles Fremont Amidon who was a federal judge in North Dakota appointed by President Cleveland. Leonard Amidon had another son named William Farmer Amidon who was killed in the Civil War. William's son, Thompson Smith Amidon was the inventor of Cream of Wheat cereal. Leonard's son George Jacob Amidon was my great-great grandfather. The following is a transcription of the Obituary of Eugene Curtis Amidon.
