I read a list of Halifax Co.,Va. deserters in the archives.It said it was a list of Major Jones' Battallion of Militia,1781. Indexed in H.J. Eckemrodes"Virginia Soliders in the American Revolution" under "Executive Communications,1841". I thought that had been revised in 1911. How can I find out if they were really deserters?
