Lee's Legion at Stony Point, NY 15-16 July 1779 The Legion consisted of four companies/troops at this time. There was a mix of infantry companies and cavalry troops. The mission was acting as the eyes and ears of the Main Army under General Washington. Major Henry (Light Horse Harry) Lee was the commander. The company/troop commanders were: Captain Herd Captain Payton Captain S. Shaw Captain Allan McLane Other known officers Lieut.
