Congress has completed work on the Interior Appropriations Bill and sent it to the President for his signature. The legislation includes $200,000 for the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Act sponsored by Senators Hillary Clinton of New York and John Warner of Virginia. That Act was approved by the Senate last year, but needed funding, which it now has. In addition to including the funds for the National Park Service to develop programs to commemorate the remaining 225th anniversaries of battles and events of the Revolutionary War, the funding measure encourages funding at a similar level for the next fiscal year as we move into 2006 and the 225th Anniversary programs for the Battles of Cowpens, Guilford Courthouse and Yorktown.
