There was a movie with Alan Ladd--I don't remember the title, but it had to do with the OSS (a spy movie) in WWII. There was a restaurant scene where one of the American operatives cut his meat and switched the fork back to the right hand and was caught--an obvious American trait. I believe Europeans use the knife in the right hand and fork in the left and don't switch. Charles
