Since I have found the term "Scotch-Irish" in the orginal business journals of John Gordon MACOMB 1757-1760, stationed at Albany NY during the French and Indian Wars, in referencing his own ethnic background in a letter to a fellow merchant in Northern Ireland, I have settled on this terminology for describing my own orgins. Having said this, I would like to thank John Robertson in underscoring attempts to query in terms of groups assimulating certain terminologies describing their research and ethnic/political groupings, especially in written correspondence, such as email lists.
