I'd like to honor my fitth GGF John McKinney, Old Tryon NC' John was a Whig, and assisted in the establishment of American independence in old Tryon County as a member of the Safey Committee, and a signer of the Articles of Association in 1775. He and several members of his militia accompanied Colonel Andrew Hampton to Charleston for gun powder Bill McKinney Spartanburg SC

Captain Benjamin Elliot, 3rd Dutchess County, NY Militia, fought at the Battle of White Plains, NY Nathaniel Cary, signed the Dutchess County NY Articles of Association, Ensign in the Beekman Regiment of Minute Men, 2nd Lieut. in the Fourth Dutchess County Company of Minute Men of Pawling, NY.
