The Rockbridge Volunteers were militia from Rockbridge County VA there is a Sons of the American Revolution Chapter named after them. I know little other than what is in "Devil of a Whipping" which recounts a unit of the Rockbridge Volunteers marching from Virginia to SC to fight in the Battle of Cowpens.
